If you detect a fire in your apartment or a neighbouring apartment
Alert other residents in the apartment, make your way out of the building to safety and summon the fire and rescue service by dialing 999 and give the location as Oxid House, Newton Street, Manchester, M1 1EE.
If the fire alarm is sounding but no fire is evident
Call O'Connor Bowden Rebloom on 01625 569774 and notify the operative that the fire alarm is sounding but you have not detected a fire. The building has a 'stay put' policy so please stay in your apartment. Attendance to the building will be within 1 hour. Do not tamper with any fire detection equipment as there may be an issue in another area of the building that you are unaware of.
If a fire starts in the common parts
Anyone in these areas should make their way out of the building to safety and summon the fire and rescue service by dialing 999 and give the location as Oxid House, Newton Street, Manchester, M1 1EE.
The muster point when evacuating is 116 Newton Street, on the other side of the road as you leave the front of the building.
All other residents not directly affected by the fire are to remain in their flat unless directed to leave by the fire and rescue service. Dial 999 and notify the fire service of the flat number you are in.
Do not take risks or attempt to fight the fire
Do not return to the building until authorised to do so
Do not use any lifts
If you cannot leave your flat place something at the bottom of the door to stop smoke from entering
Dial 999 and tell the Fire Brigade you are trapped inside your flat.
Open your window if you need to breathe - DO NOT SMASH THE WINDOW
